Hyacinth Cowl: A new Crochet Pattern

Reader

When I made the Hyacinth Hat and then fell in love with it, and barely took it off, I knew I wanted to make a cowl to match it. When I first starting imagining how it would look, I thought it was just going to be a bear to write up. I made my first sample and it worked up sooo easy. I was surprised at how well the linen stitch worked with the post stitches. The end result is a really beautiful cowl that looks like you spent a lifetime working on it, but in reality its a fairly quick project (for a fingering weight project) with a lot of repeating.

This is a light weight cowl perfect for that changing over weather, when it starts cold in the morning, but warms up as the day heads into the afternoon. Just like the hat the simple lines in the pattern makes it wearable for just about everyone who wants a little more warmth. For the yarn I chose Stroll Fingering yarn that you can find on Crochet.com. It is one on my favorite fingering yarns to use just because it is so soft and wearable. Below I'm providing you an affiliate link to the yarn. I get a small contribution from your shopping for the yarn.

Where to find the Pattern

You can find this pattern in all of my shops. Below you will find their links. As usual there is a sale price for the first week on Ravelry.

I'll be updating the Hyacinth Hat pattern this week. Not much is changing, just some of the phrasing to better match the cowl pattern so be on the lookout for that if it is a pattern you have already purchased.

Thanks for all your support, Julia

Reader I have just published my next animal sock pattern. I wanted to get it out before the crazy summer schedule starts. My summer is filling up fast, how about yours? I'll be helping at 2 camps this year, and spending lots of time with family. Were you hoping the next pattern would be the Dinos? I hope so. These are so fun. I debated with myself for awhile on what colors to choose. I went with dark green and magenta. It gave me a lot of 90's kids nostalgia feelings. I have already worn...

Reader I have a new pattern to share with you today. Say hello to the Bee Bold Socks. I had this Thought: What if I used my animal hat charts to make socks? I went for it and I'm so glad that I did. I have already secretly made the fish, and dino socks with only the butterflies to go, and they are all soo cute. I've always been unsure of stranded knitted socks, because I worried that they would not have a lot of stretch, but I used some tricks throughout the pattern to keep them stretchy....

Reader I have a new knitting pattern for you today. The Go Fish Hat. This is a fun animal hat to go along with some of the other animal patterns I have created over the years. This hat features some happy fish swimming among bubbles. It just makes me feel happy looking at them, and I hope they bring a smile to you too. You can find this pattern on Ravelry or Etsy!
